Part 1 - Adding The Strategy To A Chart:

Strategies can be added to charts or run chartless depending on the users preference. If you would like to run chartless, please skip this section and move to Part 2.

  1. To open a new chart in NinjaTrader, click New -> Chart

  1. NinjaTrader will open a data series selection window. Select the desired contract. For this example, we will be selecting NQ 12-25.

  1. In the same Data Series window, select the desired time frame type. Then, add the length of the desired time frame in the Value parameter. The example shows the settings for a 5 minute candlestick chart. When finished, click OK to open the new chart.

  1. Once the new chart is open, click the Strategies tool to open the Strategy Selection window.

  1. When the Strategies Selection window opens, double click the QZeus strategy to add it to the chart. You will notice that the strategy is now listed in the Configured box.

  1. Click OK to close the Strategies Selection window, or skip to Part 3 to input your settings.

Part 2 - Adding The Strategy Without A Chart:

Strategies can be added to charts or run chartless depending on the users preference. If you added your strategy to a chart following the instructions from Part 1, please skip this section and move to Part 3.

  1. Navigate to your Strategies tab on your NinjaTrader Control Center.

  1. Right click in the blank space and select New Strategy

  1. When the Strategies Selection window opens, click the QZeus strategy.

  1. For a chartless strategy, you must input your bar type and time frame in the strategy settings.

  1. Click OK to close the Strategies Selection window, or continue to Part 3 to input your settings.

Part 3 - Understanding the Settings:

The NinjaTrader version of QZeus has strategy parameters that correlate directly to their TradingView counterpart. Meaning, if you have a TradingView version of QZeus that you like, those settings can be put directly into the NinjaTrader version.

Below are a list of parameter descriptions and functions:

1. Time Preferences

  • Only Trade Within Specific Timeframe? - Select this if you would like the strategy to only trade between the time listed for Trading Range-Start and Trading Range-End.

  • Trading Range-Start - Modify this time to your desired start of trading time.

  • Trading Range-End - Modify this time to your desired end of trading time.

  • Pause for Lunch/News? - Select this if you would like the strategy to skip trading from the time listed for Lunch/News Pause-Start to Lunch/News Pause-End.

  • Lunch/News Pause-Start - Modify this time to the start of the desired period to skip.

  • Lunch/News Pause-End - Modify this time to the end of the desired period to skip.

  • Force Trade to Close? - Select between three different options.

    • Force Close at Trading Range-End - This selection will force any open trades to close the bar after the time set in Trading Range-End.

    • Don't Force Close - This will allow the open trade to continue until invalidation, TP, or SL.

    • Force Close at Custom Time - This will force any open trades to close the bar after the time set in Custom Force Close Time.

  • Custom Force Close Time - Modify this time to the desired time to force any open trades to close.

2. Days to Trade

Please check the boxes beside the days that you would like the strategy to trade.

3. Strategy Settings

  • Settings Preset - Select between one of four settings.

    • Conservative - Does not use Martingale or either Boosts

    • Intermediate - Uses Martingale and Range Boost

    • Aggressive - Uses Martingale, Long Boost, and Range Boost

    • Custom - Select which settings you desire.

    Please note: Any selection other than Custom will overwrite the selections you make in the next three selection boxes.

  • Enable Martingale - Select this to allow the strategy to double your position size after a loss

  • Enable Long Boost - Select this to allow the strategy to double your position size if certain desirable conditions are met.

  • Enable Range Boost - Select this to allow the strategy to modify your take profit level if certain desirable conditions are met.

  • Default Quantity - Set this number to your desired base contract amount. This number will be dependent on the amount of risk you are comfortable with.

  • Enable Max Contract Limit - Select this to force the strategy to limit the amount of contracts to the value in the Max Contracts Open setting.

  • Max Contracts Opened - Change this number to the maximum number of contracts that you desire the strategy to open. This number will be dependent on the amount of risk you are comfortable with.

  • Stop Multiplier - Change this value to your desired multiplier of the stop loss. Higher number will make your stop loss larger, lower will make it smaller.

  • Static Take Profit Multiplier - Change this value to modify your take profit. Higher numbers will make your take profit larger, lower will make it smaller.

  • Range Boost Take Profit Multiplier - This multiplier will be used when Range Boost conditions are met.

4. Display Settings

  • Enable Trend Coloring? - Select this if you would like the strategy to color the bars depending on the trend direction.

  • BullColor - Select the desired color of a bullish trend.

  • BearColor - Select the desired color of a bearish trend.

  • Enable Info Panel? - Select this to show the profit and loss information panel on the chart.

5. Profit and Loss

  • On Tick Exits - Select this if you would like the strategy to exit trades when the Max Daily Profit, Max Daily Loss, or Trailing Daily Stoploss are hit in the middle of a bar. If this is not selected, the strategy will wait to close the trade until after the bar closes.

  • Max Daily Profit - Select this if you would like the strategy to exit when the Max Daily Profit is hit.

  • Max Daily Profit (Currency) - Input the desired dollar amount for your max daily profit level.

  • Max Daily Loss - Select this if you would like the strategy to exit when the Max Daily Loss is hit.

  • Max Daily Loss (Currency) - Input the desired dollar amount for your max daily loss level.

  • Use Trailing Daily SL? - Select this if you would like the strategy to exit when the Trailing Daily Stoploss is hit.

  • Trailing Daily Stoploss (Currency) - Input the desired dollar amount for your daily trailing stoploss. This value will trail your Max Profit Level after it is greater than your Trailing Activation level.

  • Trailing Activation (Currency) - Input the desired dollar amount your would like the Trailing Daily Stoploss to start trailing at.

  • Limit Number of Trades? - Select this to limit the strategy to only take the amount of trades listed in the Max Number of Trades setting.

  • Max Number of Trades - Input the desired maximum number of trades that you would like the strategy to take per day.

6. Setup

  • Account - Select the desired account for the strategy to trade in.

  • Calculate - It is imperative that you leave this set to On Bar Close.

  • Label - Change this to rename the strategy in your strategy list.

  • Maximum bars look back - Leave this at 256.

  • Bars required to trade - Leave this at 20.

  • Start behavior - Wait until flat is the best choice for this strategy.

  • Enabled - Select this to enable your strategy.

    • Note: The enable button will not appear in the settings if you added this as a chartless strategy. The enable button will be shown on the Strategies tab of your NinjaTrader Control Center.
